As a founder director of Southern Motor Contracts I am pleased to say that the sound business principles on which the business was founded over 21 years ago, still apply today.

Having started with SMC in 1995 I established the Southern Area Branch of the company, Moving to bigger be-spoked premises in 2005 and in 2006 I became a Director and personally invested into the company as a shareholder.

I have been instrumental in the evolution of the business, including the successful inception of Motorent, our Daily Rental Company in 2005. Now with over 70 vehicles on the daily rental fleet, we have the flexibility to offer a full suite of vehicle solutions to keep our customers motoring. Motorent works hand in hand with our core business of long term vehicle supply to our fleet users, offering flexibility and choice.

Our state of the art management software allows us to access data on our customers vehicles so the management of the fleet runs seamlessly.

Working with our partners to allow vehicle maintenance to be carried out on a national basis.

Our focus has always been on our customers and keeping them motoring and supporting their business with cost effective solutions and management of those solutions for the life of the contract.

Lynda Paley - Sales & Marketing

Since joining the Sales Team in 2008 Lynda has successfully introduced many of our new customers to the business and also looks after the Account Management of some of our oldest customers.

With over eight years experience within the Motor Industry and specialising in the Corporate Sales and Small Business Sectors. Lynda is equipped to assist businesses of all sizes with finding the best vehicle solutions to their fleet on a short or long term basis.

Joanne Kennedy - Daily Hire

Jo has been with the company since the inception of Motorent in 2005, Jo successfully operates the Hire desk and due to customer demand has seen the fleet size increase to over 75 vehicles.

Working with vehicles up to 3.5 tonne Jo co-ordinates the Hire Diary with efficiency even with last minute bookings our corporate customers receive fast and efficient service.

Jean Stainbank - Accounts

From joining the company in 1995 as a receptionist Jean has progressed through the company, developing her skills and experience by working in various departments

Jean is now head of our Accounts Team and is able to use her vast experience and excellent customer services skills to deliver an excellent level of service to customers and suppliers alike.
